My Reiki for Animals is dedicated to my dog Darcy who inspired me everyday during his short 7 years on this earth. Without him ... none of this would have been possible.
Did you know that Reiki can benefit animals too?
Animals, like people, benefit from Reiki. Whether you have cats, dogs, birds, fish, ferrets, horses, or other larger animals, you can use Reiki to help your pets.
Reiki works well with animals for the same reasons it works well on children and people of all ages. Animals respond to your loving touch and intention. Reiki is another way to help your animals feel better.
Reiki is great to use for animals
because it is gentle, noninvasive and can be offered without physical contact.
It doesn't cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and yet yields powerful
results. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki energy.
The book illustrated above called "Animal Reiki" is written by Kathleen Prasad. She is also a Reiki Master and has done thousands of Reiki treatments on all kinds of animals, domestic and wild. Her book has received a five star rating on Amazon!
You can give Reiki to animals in the following situations:
- When they are ill: Reiki helps the healing process and works with any type of medical intervention. It helps post surgery, heals wounds, sprains, strains and broken bones.
- When they are young or old: You can use Reiki on an animal of any age or situation. For young animals, it can calm their hyperactive behavior, and for the senior animals, it can boost their energy and give them added vitality.
- When they have been through a trauma: Animals can use loving energy after they've experienced any type of abuse, loss, or move, or if they seem to exhibit depression or other behavioural disorder. Even if you don't know what the problem is, you can use Reiki to help.
Almost 100 veterinarians are listed as Reiki practitioners with the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association.
Personally, I have experience offering Reiki treatments to dogs, cats and horses and I have witnessed positive results. Animals are all different in their response to Reiki ... some lay down a short distance away and go into a deep sleep, some have jumped on my lap ... others roam around finally resting on a spot on the floor.
I adopted a dog in 2007 and I must say, I was happy to have found Reiki to help him during his 7 years with me. He was my number one client. While he was with me, he received Reiki almost daily and it helped him in many ways ... such as after getting extremely sick after eating tainted food, during his three month recovery from a herniated disc, after surgery and for calming his tummy upsets. He used to actually jump up on my lap when he wanted Reiki or wake me up in the middle of the night. He often snored during a Reiki treatment!
I understand the love we have for our animal companions ... and I also know what it's like to feel helpless when they are suffering or sick. I will come to your home and provide Reiki to help your furry friend feel better. Contact me to set up an appointment.
Reiki For Specific Animals
Video Case Study / Reiki On A Dog
Pam came to our home and we immediately noticed a connection between her and our dog Maggie.
She curled up by Pam and barely acknowledged us. Pam informed us of the pain that Maggie was experiencing and some anxiety associated with it. Based on the information that Pam provided and a bit of investigation on our part we discovered that, in fact, Maggie had suffered a slight injury when staying with friends of ours … she had stumbled on their hardwood stairs and hurt her back.
Pam made some recommendations about how best to support Maggie so that she would return to her healthy, energetic self and they worked. It was quite amazing to see the difference between how Maggie would normally react in situations and the way she responded to Pam.
I would not hesitate to recommend Pam’s Reiki sessions based upon my own experience and what I witnessed with Maggie.
